AUCTION NOT OPEN TO BIDDERS FROM CA, OR, WA, or HI Acer palmatum ‘Shin hikasa’ is a dwarf/shrub form of Japanese Maple that has amazing spring pink variegation that is pink and pale cream. The growth is very congested and upright and the leaves are often almost entirely pink in the spring. The variegation is similar to ‘Abigail Rose’ but based on our experience, ‘Shin hikasa’ is a bit hardier than ‘Abigail Rose’ and easier to grow in the garden. The spring colors are electric pink edges with yellow cream colored interior to the leaves. The interior changes to green and the variegation fades to a cream color with time in the summer. Foliage turns yellow in the fall. This cute little shrubby form is reported to reach 2′ high and 3′ wide after 10 years. A rare and choice selection from Japan. You are bidding on the actual tree photographed in the 2nd – 5th photos. The first photograph is another ‘Shin hikasa’ that we sold last spring. We included that photo to show the amazing spring colors on this cultivar. The tree for sale is a nicely branched 3 year old grafted tree. The approximate height of this tree is 17″ (inches) and the width is 20” (inches). Get it now and enjoy the intricate colors patterns in your garden this spring. We can hold this tree for several weeks if you cannot receive it due to cold temperatures. PLEASE DO NOT PAY UNTIL YOU ARE READY FOR US TO SHIP YOUR TREE. This tree will ship in it’s 1-gallon container. This auction is only open to United States bidders.
