Bonsai Trees – What Is a Bonsai?
The bonsai yoga is a Japanese replica of a dwarf juniper, usually a Chinese elm, crabapple tree or a Chinese pomegranate tree. Typically it is not hardy enough to survive outside, however it has developed an uncanny ability to grow and thrive in indoors even when there is little challenge in the weather. In fact some bonsai trees are even said to have been able to survive after the Great Fire of Japan in as little as 1820. This was a devastating event on the country and thousands of trees were scorched to the ground, but the bonsai tree survived.
Today these wonderful trees are still cultivated and cared for mainly due to their symbolism and symbolic value. They are often revered by collectors around the world for their beauty, rarity, limited availability and intricate lines which span their branches. The Japanese bonsai tree symbolizes strength, power and independence of the Japanese people and their profound attachment to this plant. This powerful symbolism is what keeps the bonsai tree alive today.
These beautiful trees are also very easy to care for, yet they retain all of their charm and beauty. They need minimal maintenance, yet will thrive with regular pruning, trimming and repotting. Many bonsai growers keep them indoors between light periods and will soon see the fruits of their diligent labor start to appear, all the while giving you great pleasure from the pure joy of watching your bonsai tree grow. They are truly worth the effort!
