Hello Bonsai – How to Create a Bonsai Proposal

Hello Bonsai is an all-in-one suite of tools for freelancers to manage their business – from proposals and contracts, to invoices, expenses and time tracking. It takes care of all the shitty parts of freelancing so you can focus on doing what you do best – creating amazing work for your clients.

Unlike other proposal software, Bonsai offers sleek and accessible templates that can be customized for each project. The templates include sections for Contact Information, Context and Objectives, Project Overview, and Fees. In addition, Bonsai provides a contract template which can be edited to match each project’s requirements.

Bonsai also allows you to invite colleagues on a project basis, though only paid plans allow collaboration on the proposal. Collaborators can add tasks, track time and chat but cannot view or edit project financial details or the proposal.

Proposals are a vital part of the client interaction process. For that reason, it is essential that they are presented professionally and clearly set out the work you will be doing and what it will cost. Bonsai’s client displays are easy to navigate with clear call-to-action buttons allowing your clients to either ‘Yes’ or ‘No’ the proposal. Bonsai tracks client interaction with the proposal in the Activity section of the Dashboard and the associated Project pages.

When you create a new project for a client in Bonsai, it will automatically appear in your ’Proposals’ tab. You can then create a proposal by clicking the ‘Create Proposal’ button and entering the details of your work for that particular client.
